Daniel Bellón & Diego Maceiras walked away with the top prize at the 7th edition of the Radio Obradoiro folk music competition held in Santiago’s main theatre on the 17 March 2006, winning the opportunity to record an album.

After working at the Phonos recording studios in A Estrada over the months of July and September, the duo has now released their new album entitled "Unión das Terras", including original compositions as well as pieces from all around the World, including Argentina, Russia, France, the Middle East and Portugal, adapted to the wide range of possibilities that the Galician bagpipes (gaita) and the accordion have to offer.

This project also includes guest appearances by leading musicians such as Xosé Lois Romero on the tambourine (pandeira), Álex Blanco on the acoustic guitar and Xabier Díaz on vocals.

Daniel Bellón & Diego Maceiras take us on an hour-long, boundless trip around the World, showing the best that each place and culture has to offer with a singularly Galician sound so characteristic of all their pieces.
